October Meeting Notice

WHAT: Vacuum tube based microphone preamplifiers, why they sound better than solid-state microphone preamps. This will be a re-presentation of his talk at this year’s New York AES convention.

WHO: Doug Fearn, founder of D.W. FEARN, which manufactures pro audio equipment for the recording industry. Doug has been involved in audio since the late 1960s, as a studio owner, broadcast engineer, and now a manufacturer.

WHEN: Wednesday October 22nd, 7PM

Light refreshments will be provided

WHERE: The new FORGE RECORDING STUDIOS, A “John Stork” design, the only one in the Phila area.

Forge Recording is located at 100 Mill Road, Oreland, PA 19075, 2 miles from the Fort Washington interchange (Exit #339) of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We are approximately 40 minutes from Center City Philadelphia and 2 hours from New York City.

Driving Directions From the PA Turnpike

Exit at Fort Washington (Exit #339)
Take Route 309 South
Immediately take the Oreland exit
Stay on that road for 2 miles (becomes Pennsylvania Avenue)
Forge Recording is on the left, just past Moon’s Tires, at the intersection of Mill Road and Pennsylvania Avenue
